The KNVB has already announced the end of all football activity in the Netherlands until April 6th but then there will be a period of recovery for the players before any games actually take place.
Speaking to NOS, Spee spoke about the three options that the KNVB are considering to complete the season.
He said, “The first is: we play the competition, with the audience. The scenario that follows is playing it our, but partly without an audience. If that does not work either, you will end up in a situation where you have to cancel matches. You have to do that intelligently, because then you will change rules while the game is already in progress. Those are complex questions.”
The Eredivisie season could also be completely ended if Netherlands follow Italy, “They say there (Italy) that they will not play football again until October. If that’s going to be the scenario here, then it’s done.”
