The Dutch FA (KNVB) have announced that they have made a bid for the Woman’s Euro 2017 championships. UEFA will announce in December who will host the tournament.

ned womIf Netherlands are awarded the tournament, then the final will be played in ‘De Grolsch Veste’, stadium of FC Twente. The FC Twente woman are 2 times in a row the champion of the BeNeLeauge (The Dutch and Belgium woman league.) The other stadiums would be: Breda (NAC), Utrecht (FC Utrecht), Deventer (Go Ahead Eagles), Tilburg (Willem II), Doetinchem (De Graafschap) and Rotterdam (Sparta Rotterdam).

To make a bid the UEFA wants at least six or seven stadiums with a capacity between 8.000 and 15.000. In addition they also want one stadium with a capacity of at least 2o.000 for the final, (Grolsch Veste: 32.000). The semi-finals would be played in Breda and Enschede. Breda, Deventer, Tilburg and Rotterdam would get the quarter finales. Utrecht would get the opening game.

The Woman Euro 2017 is dated on July 16 till August 6th. Sixteen nations qualify for the tournament, while the host is automatically qualified.
