Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman has stated the much discussed clause to join Barcelona in his contract is only activated after the Euro’s and that doesn’t change due to UEFA moving it to 2021.

In October, it was revealed that Koeman has a clause in his contract with the KNVB that would allow him to leave his role as Oranje boss if Barcelona made him an offer. However, this was only after the European Championships.

That clause became unclear on Tuesday with UEFA moving the tournament to 2021 due to the coronavirus outbreak. Would Koeman then be tempted to leave his role should Barcelona come calling this summer?

However, speaking to De Telegraaf, Koeman seemed to indicate that he would remain as Oranje boss, “The clause in my contract to go to Barça is for after the European Championship. There is no date added, so now after the European Championship in 2021. But I have not been working on that for a second.”
