Speaking to Marca, the Netherlands boss said, “Dutch teams always find it difficult to play against foreign teams, because they are physically stronger
“Here we have an offensive way of playing football and we would like to dominate, but your physicality is also important to be able to win. We fall short there.”
Getafe’s win over Ajax in the Europa League was pointed out by Koeman as an example, “That was a clear example. In the Netherlands, there was criticism of the diving and delaying of Getafe, but they play that well. Of course everyone wants to see a nice game that lasts ninety minutes, but the execution of Getafe was really very special. Not everything is about having the ball, more things are needed to win a match. “
