Koeman has been open that Barcelona remains his dream job and the Spanish club approached the Oranje boss earlier this year. However, Koeman will stay in charge of the Dutch national team until after Euro 2020, which will now take place next year.
Koeman told Catalunya Radio, “Everyone knows that it is a dream of mine. I hope there will be another chance in the future, I’m sure. But it also depends on my career. You have to have a lot of experience to train a club like Barcelona.
“I have said it several times, but I have given my word to the national team, given the European Championship, but the virus has changed everything. The most important thing is the national team. Nobody knows what will happen in the future.
“I have discussed this with the KNVB. I still have a contract for two years and I will serve it. It is just as important for a trainer as a player to be active in a big tournament.”
