After the 2-0 defeat to Iceland on Monday Ronald De Boer stated that Ronald Koeman and not Guus Hiddink should have replaced Louis van Gaal as Netherlands boss but the Southampton boss isn’t interested in the position at the moment.

When Louis van Gaal announced he was leaving Netherlands at the end of the World Cup, Koeman made no secret of his desire to replace the now Manchester United boss, but the KNVB chose Guus Hiddink instead.
Koeman now excelling in England with Southampton was grilled by the press about the Netherlands position, but the former Feyenoord boss is not interested in coaching Netherlands now.
Koeman told a press conference, “I was interested in that job,”
“When I left at the end of last season at Feyenoord I was in the picture. But the union chose Hiddink.
“Now it is not for me because i am the coach of Southampton. If they want me then they will need to wait as a prefer to see out my contract. There is no chance that i will leave here now.”
On de Boer’s comments, Koeman added, “Ronald de Boer said a year ago the same thing because he responded amazed to the appointment of Hiddink. Now the debate is back again, because the Oranje has a bad run and disappointment among the public in the Netherlands is high.
“But its not my problem.”
