Ronald Koeman has called the 2-0 win over France during the UEFA Nations League a perfect performance and that’s the level he wants his Netherlands side to constantly achieve.

Netherlands beat the reigning World Champions 2-0 in De Kuip on the 16th of November last year. For Koeman that performance stands out above any other.

Asked about the level Netherlands need to show at the Euros next year, Koeman said, “I thought home against France was the perfect match.

“You don’t play the perfect match very often and therefore certainly not every international match.”

Georginio Wijnaldum added, “France-home is the norm. That was the almost perfect match. Although we also did fairly well later in Germany and Estonia. There is certainly a stretch in it, but it has to be even more constant. ”

Asked how far Netherlands could go at the Euros, Koeman responded, “There is not one country that stands out at the moment. It will be close together.”
