Ajax defender Rasmus Kristensen has joined Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg on a five-year deal.

The Dane joined Ajax from Midtjylland in January 2018 but never became a regular in Amsterdam.
After 20 Eredivisie appearances, Ajax have now sold the versatile defender to Red Bull Salzburg for a fee believed to be more than the €5 million they paid for him.
Kristensen had Noussair Mazraoui and Joel Veltman ahead of him in the pecking order for the right-back slot, while Sergino Dest has emerged from the academy.
