Rob Jansen, the agent of Dirk Kuyt, has confirmed that Feyenoord wants to appoint his client as their new head coach in the 2021/2022 season.

Dick Advocaat will stay on at Feyenoord next season, but news broke this week that Dirk Kuyt would replace the veteran. He would then be assisted by Alfons Groenendijk and Henrik Larsson. John de Wolf will also stay on.

Speaking to Algemeen Dagblad, Jansen said,  “The future plans around Dirk Kuyt himself at Feyenoord had been on the street for some time.

“John de Wolf recently signed up and so he has a continuous contract. And the names of Fons Groenendijk and Henrik Larsson have indeed also fallen in De Kuip.”

Jansen stressed it’s not confirmed, but thinks somebody has leaked the news early, “Someone has probably opened his mouth and so this is all just on the street. It is all still premature, there is really nothing at all in jugs and jars. So I would certainly not call the presentation of the next staff, but that I’m thinking about it that way, I’m not going to lie about that.”
