van beek feyenoLazio could move for their second Feyenoord defender in as many years with Sven van Beek following Stefan de Vrij to the Biancocelesti in a rumoured €4 million deal. The Italian club have conceded fifty-four goals this season in a disappointing eight placed finish. Sven van Beek is seen as the perfect candidate to sure up the defence due to his versatility operating both in central defence and on the right.

Feyenoord will be desperate to hang on to a fundamental part of their cup winning squad in order to mount a serious Eredivise title push and strong Europa League campaign next season. Lazio’s interest is another blow for the Rotterdamers having seemingly lost Tonny Vilhena to a free transfer and strong Premier League interest in Terence Kongolo.

Sven van Beek has been a consistent performer for Feyenoord since his debut against Ajax in 2013 starting seventy-three Eredivise games and earning a call up to the Netherlands squad in 2014. He is seemingly destined for a move away from Feyenoord having attracted interested from both England, particularly Southampton, and Germany in recent times. However, it seems like Lazio are doing the early front running in the race for his signature and Italy could be his next destination.

Feyenoord will be mindful that Sven has only two years left on his current deal at Feyenoord, so a sale may be the best option in order to maximise the fee received for the defender.
