On Monday morning it was reported that the 17-year-old was leaving PEC Zwolle and had been given time to complete a move away.
PSV Eindhoven held talks with the defender recently and hoped to bring the Netherlands U19 international to the club. However, AD among others are now stating that Van den Berg is on his way to Liverpool.
Liverpool will pay between €1.5-2 million for the youngster, who made 23 appearances for PEC Zwolle’s first-team.
