Derrick Luckassen does not see a future for himself at PSV Eindhoven and is not interested in returning to the club next summer.

The defender is currently on loan with Belgian side Anderlecht after finding himself out of Mark van Bommel’s plans at PSV Eindhoven.

Speaking to Het Nieuwsblad, Luckassen stated he regrets his decision to join PSV from AZ Alkmaar back in 2017, “I regret that I chose PSV. The trainers, the city of Eindhoven: I will not return.”

Luckassen then took aim at Van Bommel, “I participated in the Super Cup competition and in the Champions League preliminaries against Basel, but suddenly I disappeared from the selection. Without explanation. Of course I went to the trainer, but it just doesn’t click between me and Mark van Bommel. I don’t like him and he doesn’t like me.”

Luckassen has felt led down by Van Bommel and his previous coach Phillip Cocu, “Not by the first trainer Phillip Cocu and not by Van Bommel. I may not have lived up to expectations myself, but as a young player you should not be left to your own devices. Sometimes I missed an arm around my shoulder. John van den Brom did that at AZ.

“No, I don’t hate Van Bommel. I’m not going to knock him down when I meet him. Just give him a hand and walk on. He had his vision and I had mine, but Van Bommel will be with PSV for a long time to come. That is why I certainly will not return. ”
