Memphis put in a poor performance on Sunday and was substituted after only 66 minutes. The Dutch international showed his dissatisfaction by heading straight to the changing rooms, which has since earned him criticism from the press and fans.

However, speaking at a press conference, Lyon boss Bruno Genesio said, “Memphis admitted that he did not have the right attitude on Sunday. Everyone makes a mistake once, you have to learn to live with that. We have talked about it with him and everything has now been resolved. Let’s not forget that Memphis is still a young player.”

The 23-year-old, who has been in great form for most of this campaign, is likely to be given a rest when Lyon face Montpellier in the Coupe de la Ligue on Wednesday.
