The two clubs have been in negotiations for the past few weeks with Lyon already seeing two bids turned down by the Premier League giants.

However, an agreement has now been reached with the Telegraph reporting that Lyon will pay £16m rising to £21.7m with add-ons. Manchester United have also added a buy back clause and a generous sell-on fee to the deal.

Memphis will now travel to France to undergo his medical and put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal. The 22-year-old has already reached a personal agreement with Lyon and there shouldn’t be any issues to prevent the move being confirmed.

All going well Memphis should sign in time to make his debut this Sunday against Marseille.
