The Turkish striker was bought by Manchester City last summer, but was immediately loaned to NAC Breda. In only eight appearances, Unal has scored seven goals in the Eerste Divisie, including a hat-trick in Monday’s win over Telstar.
Speaking after the game, the 18-year-old said, “Against Sparta and RKC I missed two great chances which meant we did not win those game’s. I was very disappointed. A striker is always judged by his goals. ”
On his stay in Breda, Unal added, “I want to be special, make goals and win the playoff. That’s my goal. I’m really enjoying myself at NAC. This is the first time I get a chance every week to play in the first team. I missed that the last few years.”
According to AD, NAC Breda are hoping to speak to Manchester City over the extension of his loan deal, and the player is reportedly keen on staying as well.
