News broke at the weekend that Manchester United was looking to sign Weghorst, who is currently on loan at Besiktas from Burnley.
Besiktas had so far refused to budge, but Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that Manchester United has reached a verbal agreement with the Turkish club. A fee of €3 million will be paid to Besiktas in order to compensate them for the Dutchman’s loan ending early.
Weghorst is keen on the move to Old Trafford where he would be managed by Erik ten Hag and play alongside Tyrell Malacia and Donny van de Beek.
The move will not be sealed until Besiktas find themselves a replacement with Vincent Aboubakar the reported target.
