Chelsea have been strongly linked with the Dutchman ever since Jose Mourinho returned as manager of the club in the summer, with national team coach Louis van Gaal urging him to join the London club.
Now the Manchester Evening News are reporting that Manchester United could make a move for the 29 year old in January as they search for a much needed playmaker.
United boss David Moyes is also interested in Athletic Bilbao midfielder Anders Herrera, and Atletico Madrid star Koke, but could make Sneijder his number one priority.
The club has been linked with the Ex-Ajax and Inter Milan midfielder for years, but never made the move for the man Sir Alex Ferguson believed could replace Paul Scholes.
Sneijder himself has always stated his loyalty to Galatasaray, but with his place at next summers World Cup at stake, a move may be an option for the Dutchman.
Netherlands coach Van Gaal has been critical of Sneijder ever since he moved to Turkey last January, and even stripped him of the captaincy. A move to England may be needed for Sneijder to return to favour.
