karsdorp feyaThe Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho, is thought to be a firm admirer of Karsdorp following impressive displays by the right back in the two ties between Feyenoord and United in the Europa League.

Mourinho is keen to add depth in this position with first team options limited, which has seen Antonio Valencia, who is not a natural full back, currently occupying the role. While Valencia’s performances have been admirable, Mourinho wants competition for every place and sees Karsdorp as a viable long term option, as they look to build a squad capable of competing for the Premier League once again.

According to the Mirror.co.uk, Jose Mourinho has made the transfer of Karsdorp a priority once the transfer window opens and will test Feyenoord’s resolve with a bid in the region of £15 million.

Feyenoord, who currently lead the Eredivisie, are unlikely to want sell Karsdorp, who is a key component of their side as they push for their first title since 1999. However, it may be difficult for the club to turn down Manchester United given the financial resources at their disposal.

Karsdorp recently told Metro.nl that he is content with life in Rotterdam saying, “It is especially good. During training everyone is very concentrated, but back in the dressing room, there is equally a lot of laughs. That makes this group so much fun.”
