After Davinson Sanchez’s move to Tottenham was confirmed on Friday, Keizer spoke about the club being forced to listen to the transfer offers from clubs for their best players due to the huge amounts involved. He also stated that they are looking to strengthen the squad before the transfer market closes.

Keizer said, ”It is well known that we are looking to sign players. Sometimes that happens in the transfer window quite quickly and sometimes it takes a lot longer. We know that we have until 31st August.

”The most important thing is that we can perform well and I believe that everybody at Ajax wants that and we must work together to have the best squad possible. At the moment we believe at the club that the squad it is not quite good enough.

“We want to keep our squad together but if clubs come in for our players as in the case of Davinson Sanchez then the player themselves also has an idea about things.

”With the vast amount of money being offered for our players then you are forced as a club to listen. We are then faced with the question of how quickly we can find replacements ”.
