Ajax visit Heracles Almelo on Saturday in their opening game of the 2017/2018 season as they aim to improve on their second place finish from last season.

Keizer spoke about the new campaign and gave an update on Abdelhak Nouri, ”The squad is improving and we are starting to get the smile back on our faces. Everybody knows that we continue to support Appie Nouri and his family.

”Appie Nouri is still in the hospital and he is stable. He can breath by himself and his heat rate is good. I visited him to support the family and also Appie too.

”Football is a distraction. I know that we have a very talented squad with a few young players who know what they have to do this season.

”We have good strikers as well and a good mix of players whereby we will fight for the title.

”Every game is important and we know that here at Ajax whatever away game we play and whoever we play at home that we are expected to win.”
