Memphis Depay may have suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury on Sunday.

Memphis came off at half-time of their 1-0 loss to Rennes on Sunday and after the game, the early indications were not good.
Lyon technical director Juninho told reporters, “It is very bad news, this looks like a serious injury. He may be out for the rest of the season. He is our leader, I find this very sad for him.”
His club and Ronald Koeman will now be waiting for the official verdict on the injury. If it is a serious knee issue, then Memphis could miss the European Championships next summer.

Very disappointing for Dutch fans. While I never had high hopes that the Netherlands could have actually competed to win the tournament, the chances of a good run are now diminished. If Malen is also seriously injured things will get even grimmer.
Its obviously going to come down to late season form but based on the way Koeman has chosen in the past, there’s a good chance he would select Boadu or Babel as his starting #9.
