Memphis Depay has been dropped from the Lyon squad for Saturday’s clash with Dijon.

Lyon announced their squad for Saturday’s match on Twitter and Memphis Depay’s name was a surprise omission, with youngster Willem Geubbels included instead.
The 23-year-old is not injured or suspended and according to L’Equipe journalist Bilel Ghazi, Lyon coach Bruno Genesio has made the decision on sporting grounds.

Memphis has started the season in decent form with two goals and three assists in seven appearances so far. It remains to be seen how the Dutch international reacts to being dropped.
