oranje memphisBlind dropped the 21-year-old from his provisional Netherlands squad last week after stating to the media that the Manchester United star wasn’t being a team player. However the coach then changed his mind and recalled the winger on Friday for the friendlies with Wales (13th November) and Germany (17th).

Speaking to NOS, Memphis has revealed that he spoke to the coach about his comments, and that he is working hard to get back to his form.

Memphis said, “When I spoke to Danny Blind it was a very good conversation,”

“I think I’m a team player and the other players in the team also think that.

“I don’t think I’m in a difficult path of my career as the media talk, but I just think my form isn’t very well right now. I’m still working hard and just because I don’t show the exact form that I showed at the World Cup or last year, it doesn’t mean I don’t work hard.

“But right now I feel good again and other people don’t see what I’m doing in the training so people think I’m not busy with football etc but that’s not true.”
