The 21-year-old, who will leave PSV Eindhoven to sign for Manchester United this summer, has already won the golden boot after finishing as top scorer in the Eredivisie with 22 goals, but has now also been named as the Dutch talent of the year.
Johan Cruyff, who the award is named after said on Depay, “Last year he was close but now he is the clear winner. He has made tremendous progress.”
Depay himself added, “I am proud that i am not only the top scorer in the league but also the Talent of the Year.”
The winger follows in the footsteps of Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder, and Klaas jan Huntelaar in accepting the award, which was last year won by Ajax’s Davy Klaassen.
