The winger received a 2/1o rating from L’equipe for his performance against Saint-Etienne on Sunday and was dropped from the starting line-up for the tie against Nancy on Wednesday.

However, an injury to Mathieu Valbuena just before half time meant Memphis entered the field earlier than expected. Five minutes into the second half, Memphis won his side, who were already leading 2-0, a penalty which Alexander Lacazette scored. Then Memphis got himself on the scoresheet with a simple finish from Maxime Ganalons pass to make it 4-0.

With his first league goal since November 2015, Memphis joined a list of Dutchman who had scored in both the Premier League and Ligue 1 which includes Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Patrick Kluivert and Boudewijn Zenden.
