Memphis Depay has spoken about his upcoming move to Manchester United, and the importance of coach Louis van Gaal.

Speaking to the Dutch Metro newspaper, Depay said, “I still can’t sign my contract at United until the transfer market opens.

“I’m actually still at PSV. It is a special situation because I’ve still not been officially presented.”

On his future Manchester United coach he added, “Van Gaal is important to me. We know each other well and we had a great conversation.

“He didn’t have to explain to me what sort of club United are. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world.”

Depay also spoke of the importance of starting quickly in Manchester after they paid around €30 million for his services, “They’ve paid quite a bit for me.

“I want to start right and I feel ready for that. I do not know why i have to be calm.”

Does Depay feel any extra pressure for Netherlands after joining Man Utd? “I do not feel it. Expectations are always high when I play. There, you have to deal with and that I can only find nice.”
