The 21-year-old started his first game since the 3-0 loss to Arsenal on the 4th of October and took only eleven minutes to net his second goal of the season before going on to impress in a 2-1 win.
After the game Memphis spoke to De Telegraaf, and admitted his relief that he once again completed ninety minutes.
Memphis said, “I am happy that I can play again ninety minutes. That was a long time ago. I hope it continues.”
On his role through the middle he added, “I had a somewhat freer role. There was some space behind their defense and we took advantage of. I think we have done well. I enjoyed it anyway. ”
Memphis then thanked assistant coach Ryan Giggs for his guidance during a difficult time, “I think every young player should experience it once, but I continue to train and continue to enjoy it. I’m picking up a lot of things here, and that will keep me in. Assistant coach Ryan Giggs gave me good advice and I’m working on some things with him. You needed unconditional support. That is good in difficult times. “
