After 12 minutes, Memphis fired Lyon ahead and lifted his shirt to reveal a message on his t-shirt that read, ‘Virgil stay strong my brother’
Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk was ruled out for 6-8 months with an injury suffered playing for Liverpool last weekend.
Lyon would go on to win the game 4-1 and they now sit sixth in the table. Memphis Depay has five goals and four assists in eight league games this season.
