Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that Memphis Depay has not accepted their proposals over a new contract.

The Netherlands international’s current contract with Lyon expires in the summer of 2021, but Memphis has made comments that he is open to a move.

Speaking to L’Equipe, Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed they are doing all they can to convince the attacker to stay, but he has not agreed to any of their offers so far.

He said, “We are working hard on it,” Aulas tells L’Équipe . “I have a lot of contact with Memphis. Rudi Garcia, just like Juninho Pernambucano. We do not have daily contact, but we do regularly. We made some proposals to him, which he has not accepted. He wanted to wait until he can play again.

“At the moment we don’t have an agreement yet. But we’re not giving up. We’re talking to his agents and I’m talking to him. We’re doing everything we can to extend. Everyone at Lyon is in favour of that.”
