Watford have confirmed the signing of Mitchel Bergkamp for the club’s U23 side.

The 22-year-old, who is the son of Dennis Bergkamp, has joined Watford on a deal until the end of the season with an option for another year.
Speaking on the Watford website, Bergkamp said, “When I was younger it was difficult to be constantly compared to my father. But I adapted to that. I am an attacking midfielder, a number ten. I want to prove myself and hope I get a chance in the first-team.”
Bergkamp previously played with Almere City, but failed to make his first-team debut. He then had a trial with Arsenal which did not result in a deal.
