Robin Van Persie was part of the Manchester United eleven that faced Shakhtar Donetsk, with the striker unable to find the net in a disappointing 1-1 draw.

PSG were excellent against Benfica as they ran out 3-0 winners with right back Gregory van der Wiel impressing in he right back position. Ex-Ajax man Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the French side’s hero, scoring twice in the win.

Wesley Sneijder played 78 minutes for Galatasaray, as a last minute equaliser gave his side a 2-2 draw away at Serie A champions Juventus. The Turkish side needed to improve after losing to Real Madrid in the last round, and lead for most of the tie, before 3 late goals gave the game a crazy end.

Sadly it was not so good a night for Anderlecht defender Bram Nuytinck, who played in his sides 3-0 home defeat to Olympiakos.
