Borussia Monchengladbach are willing to loan out Luuk de Jong in January with the Dutch striker struggling for form.

luuk dDe Jong joined the Bundesliga side in the summer of 2012 after impressing a number of clubs by starring for FC Twente.

However De Jong has struggled to hold down a first team spot, and is yet to score this season in his nine appearances for the side that sit 4th.

Monchengladbach director Hans Meyer has now told Rheinische Post that the best solution for both parties may be to loan out the striker who cost the club €15 million.

He said,  “Coach Lucien Favre has from the beginning not one hundred percent had confidence in the way De Jong fills the striker position. ”

“I think we will find a solution. Possibly by Christmas we rent Luuk, but certainly not to a direct competitor.”

The German paper also believes that Monchengladbach would also be willing to listen to permanent offers as well. Ajax were linked with a move to bring De Jong back to Netherlands in the summer, while Newcastle United are also rumoured to be interested.

The 23 year old desperately needs first team action if he is to have any chance of making next summers World Cup.
