Jose Mourinho believes Juventus got it tactically wrong when they were defeated 2-1 by Ajax in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The “Special One” is currently without a club but he was in charge of the Manchester United side that beat Ajax 2-0 in the Europa League final two years ago.
Speaking to RT on Ajax’s win over Juventus, Mourinho said, “In my opinion, [Juventus are] another team that let Ajax play with their strength.
“Until this moment, nobody really respected them, and they let them play with the qualities they have.
“They have fantastic young players with a little bit of the experience they didn’t have a couple of years ago when I played them in the Europa League final.
“We gave them the game that they didn’t want to have. They complained about the long build-up, they complained about Fellaini, about physicality, they complained because they couldn’t cope.
“If you play against Ajax in the way they want to play, you have the risk that they are better than you.
“If I see for example Ajax play Barcelona or Liverpool in the final, if they reach the final, I think Barcelona and Liverpool can beat them playing their own strength, but when your quality is not, you have to go to the strategic point of view and give them what they don’t want.”
Not saying Ajax would beat Liverpool or Barcelona (or even Tottenham), but the only reason Mourinho talks so much about Ajax is to stroke his own ego about the 2017 Europa league final.
He conveniently ignores that it was a COMPLETELY different side he beat. No Tadic, Blind (was on Man U!), Neres, De Jong, Tagliafico, Mazraoui in that side. And De Ligt was 17 years old.
Mourinho is an prideful egomaniac way past his prime.
Not only that, he confirms what a coward he actually is. He never had the ability to take on Barcelona when at Real Madrid in football match (his 1st game against Barcelona that ended 5-0 after trying to go toe to toe).
The easiest thing to coach in football is train a team to stop the opposition. The hardest thing to do in football is train a team to outplay the opposition.
