Robert Mühren netted on his debut as Sparta Rotterdam drew 1-1 with PEC Zwolle to earn their first point of the season.

Mühren signed for Sparta on Thursday and was immediately selected in the starting eleven by Alex Pastoor as they looked to bounce back from their heavy defeat to VVV last week.

However, it was PEC Zwolle who struck first as Youness Mokhtar finished off a corner on 13 minutes. The lead only lasted ten minutes before Mühren drew his new side level from close range after good work by Luis Brogno.

In the second half, Sparta came closest to snatching all three points but Brogno’s effort came back off the post. At the other end, Mustafa Saymak had the chance to win it for PEC Zwolle but failed to control the ball allowing goalkeeper Ryan Korsmit to intervene.

PEC Zwolle now have four points from their opening two games, while Sparta are off the mark.
