A 93rd minute Menno Koch goal gave NAC Breda a crucial 2-1 victory over Excelsior.

After a draw in his first game in charge, Ruud Brood was hoping for a victory away at NAC Breda to keep their chances of escaping automatic relegation alive.

However, it was Excelsior who took the lead in the 30th minute when Mounir El Hamdaoui slotted in a Marcus Edwards cross.

NAC improved after the break and eventually they leveled in the 67th minute through Giovanni Korte, who’s attempted cross found the net.

It seemed the game was heading for a 1-1 draw but in the 93rd minute, Koch headed in a winning goal.

NAC remain bottom of the table but they are now only four points behind FC Emmen. Excelsior are 15th and only one point above the bottom three.
