NAC Breda came from behind to defeat Feyenoord 2-1 and move seven points clear of the bottom three.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side went into the game on the back of their KNVB Cup semi-final win over Willem II and the coach decided to make three changes with Eric Botteghin, Renato Tapia and Jens Toornstra replacing Jan-Arie van der Heijden, Karim El Ahmadi and Robin van Persie.
The home side started brightly but it was Feyenoord who took the lead on 17 minutes when Jens Toornstra fired past Nigel Bertrams on the turn. However, NAC levelled six minutes later through Thierry Ambrose, who easily finished past Brad Jones after good work by Umar Sadiq.
Four minutes into the second half the hosts were awarded a penalty for a push by Jones on Sadiq. He brushed himself off to take the spot-kick and fired into the top corner to make it 2-1.
Feyenoord went looking for an equaliser but Jean-Paul Boetius wasted a great chance, heading over a measured Steven Berghuis cross from a few yards out. Robin van Persie, Dylan Vente and Bilal Bascikoglu all came off the bench, but the trio couldn’t come up with an equaliser. Basacikoglu missed the best chance in injury time, prodding over the bar from in front of the goal.
The defeat leaves Feyenoord in fifth spot, while NAC climb to 14th.
