The Eredivisie season resumed on Friday evening with PEC Zwolle and Utrecht playing out an exciting 3-3 draw.

PEC Zwolle lined up with a 5-3-2 formation that was worked with over the winter break, while Jeroen Zoet made his Utrecht debut in goal.

In the 24th minute, Simon Gustafson gave Utrecht the lead from the penalty spot after Sam Kersten was penalised by VAR for handball. However, the lead only lasted three minutes before Mike van Duinen poked the ball past Zoet to make it 1-1.

Eight minutes after the break, Kenneth Paal beat an out of position Zoet with a fierce strike from out of the box to make it 2-1 for the hosts. Moments later, Zoet prevented it from being 3-1 with a good save to deny van Duinen.

In the 71st minute, Gyrano Kerk fired Utrecht level with a low strike from the centre of the box. Then, Utrecht thought they had the winner when Issah Abass made it 3-2 after an excellent pass by Urby Emanuelson.

PEC Zwolle, weren’t done though, and in the 89th minute, Yuta Nakayama slotted in a late equaliser to earn the hosts a point.

PEC Zwolle are 15th while Utrecht sit seventh.
