French club Nantes have confirmed the signing of Ajax striker Kolbeinn Sighthorsson on a five-year-deal.

The Icelandic international breezed through his medical on Thursday morning and has officially signed on at Nantes until 2020. The Ligue 1 side agreed a fee believed to be €3 million with Ajax.
Sigthorsson told the Nantes website, “I’ve been looking forward to the closing of this transfer,”
“I know the passion of the fans and the family feeling that prevails in this club. This is a great opportunity for me. ‘
Ajax signed Sigthorsson from AZ Alkmaar for around €4.5 million in 2011, but the 25-year-old never found his feet at the Amsterdam Arena, mostly due to injuries. The striker leaves having scored 31 goals in 80 Eredivisie appearances.
