Barcelona defender Xavi Quintilla will spend a trial period with NEC Nijmegen as he looks to make the move to Netherlands.

The left back, who can also play in the centre of defence, is yet to make his debut for the first team of Barcelona and is set to leave this summer as he searches for first team football.
The Eredivisie is Quintilla’s preference, and he will get the chance to sign for NEC, if he can impress Edwin van de Looi on a trial spell. He could make his first appearance on Tuesday with NEC facing Achilles 29.
The 19-year-old has been a regular for Barcelona at U19 level, and has four caps for Spain at the same age range.
