The hosts, who went into the game on a four-match losing streak, had the better of the first half in Nijmegen but couldn’t find the opening goal their dominance deserved. Dario Dumic came the closest with a vicious strike from distance which beat Kostas Lamprou but came back off the inside of the post.
After the break, both sides went in search of the winning goal but a lack of confidence in attack for both sides was evident as chances were few and far between. The best opportunity fell to NEC attacker Taiwo Awoniyi but his shot was saved by the legs of Lamprou.
The point sees Willem II climb to 11th with NEC one place behind them in 12th.
