During his press conference ahead of Friday’s friendly with France, Netherlands boss Danny Blind has sung the praises of winger Quincy Promes.

promes pPromes has joined up with the national team full of confidence, having scored 12 goals in 21 league games for Spartak Moscow this season, making him the top scorer in the Russian Premier League.

Speaking to the press ahead of Netherlands first friendly of 2016, Danny Blind heaped praise on the 24-year-old, stating he was an example for other young players in the squad.

Blind said, “If you’re talking about young players making steps, then Promes I think at the moment is the best example.”

“I think he played really fantastic before the winter (break). He did so at a high level and in a good league, which really is played at pace.”

“He has scoring ability, depth in his game and can easily bring in the required pace. I think he is an interesting player who is going through a very positive development,”

Promes currently has six caps for the Dutch national team.
