Netherlands were held to a dull 0-0 draw by Bosnia & Herzegovina in the Nations League on Sunday. Michael Bell provides his player ratings for the Netherlands.

Jasper Cillessen 6.5/10: A spectator for most of the match and was only called into action once in the second half to deny Pjanic.

Denzel Dumfries 5.5/10: Got so much space on the right but didn’t use it. His end product was poor and gave too many fouls away. Not a great night for the PSV full-back.

Daley Blind 6/10: Didn’t do anything wrong defensively but didn’t contribute enough going forward. A steady performance.

Virgil van Dijk 7/10: Dominated the Bosnian attackers even when Dzeko came on. Another solid performance from the Oranje captain.

Stefan de Vrij 7/10: Solid at the back throughout the game, and had a few chances from set pieces but couldn’t score.

Frenkie de Jong 7.5/10: The best man in Oranje was De Jong, who looked like the only man in the midfield that could do anything with the ball. Was also unlucky not to score late on.

Marten de Roon 5/10: Looked out of position at times which led to chances for Bosnia in the first half. Couldn’t provide anything going forward and got booked which means he will miss the Italy game. Not a good performance from the midfielder.

Georginio Wijnaldum 6/10: Struggled to get involved in the game but did create a couple of chances. Not the answer for Oranje as an attacking midfielder. Couldn’t link with Luuk de Jong. Missed Memphis Depay.

Donyell Malen 5.5/10: Chosen to start on the right wing, Malen could not take advantage of the space on his side of the Bosnian defence. Struggled to have an impact before being substituted for Berghuis.

Quincy Promes 4.5/10: Really poor performance from the Ajax forward, who was not a danger at all for the Bosnian defence. Lost the ball constantly.

Luuk de Jong 5/10: Barely touched the ball in the first half but saw an effort well saved in the second. Not his fault that the Dutch wingers failed to provide him with any service whatsoever. Didn’t prove he could lead the line for Oranje.

Substitutes

Steven Berghuis 7/10: Actually provided a threat down the right wing after coming on and created chances.

Hans Hateboer 6/10: Got 20 minutes and looked better than he did against Mexico.

Ryan Babel 4/10: Came on for a few minutes and missed a sitter. Why is he still getting game time in Oranje?

Nathan Ake 5/10: Came on for the last few minutes and didn’t contribute much. A strange substitution when De Boer still had attackers on the bench.
