Netherlands have reached the women’s European Championships final after an excellent 3-0 win over England in Enschede.

Netherlands began the semifinal on top and took the lead after only 20 minutes with Vivianne Miedema heading Jackie Groenen’s cross into the net at the back post.

After the opener, England began to threaten which resulted in Sherida Spitse nearly netting an own goal, but she was saved by the post.

In the second half, the game remained close but just after the hour mark, Danielle van de Donk capitalised on a bad back-pass to net Netherlands second. In the 90th minute, Lieke Martens sealed the victory with a deflected effort.

Netherlands women now progress to their first ever major competition final which takes place this Sunday against Denmark.
