FIFA is yet to confirm it but Netherlands 3-1 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday was great news for Oranje ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifying draw.

The top ten European nations will be in pot one for the qualifying draw which takes place on the 7th of December.

Netherlands are currently 15th in the FIFA Rankings, which makes them the tenth European nation. They could have been surpassed by Switzerland, but the 3-1 win over Bosnia on Sunday has now put an end to that chance.

Speaking at his post game press conference, Oranje boss Frank de Boer believes Netherlands have done enough to be in pot one, “I assume that. And that is very nice, of course you avoid the big countries. There are also strong countries in Pot 2, but I prefer to be in Pot 1.”

The Netherlands will avoid Belgium, France, England, Portugal, Spain, Croatia, Germany, Denmark and Italy in the hunt for a World Cup spot.

Nothing will be confirmed until FIFA reveals the FIFA World Rankings at the start of next month.
