Netherlands U19’s began their 2019 European Championship qualifying campaign with a 3-0 victory over Malta on Wednesday.

Netherlands play hosts in the first qualifying stage and face Malta, Hungary and Slovenia over the international period as they bid to reach the elite round.

Maarten Stekelenburg’s side got off to a winning start with a simple victory over Malta inĀ ‘s-Gravenzande. NEC midfielder Ferdi Kadioglu netted a quick-fire double to make it 2-0 at the break before Joel Piroe netted a late spot-kick to complete the 3-0 victory.
