Art Langeler has decided to leave his post as Netherlands U21 head coach to become the director of football development at the KNVB.

The Dutch football association announced the news on Tuesday with Langeler taking on the role from the 1st of May, leaving behind Netherlands U21’s.

Langeler said in a statement, “This is a special step in my career, which I am very excited about. After more than ten years as a trainer, policymaker and educator in professional football, the time has come to put the experiences gained in the service of the KNVB in the coming years”

As the director of football development, Langeler will be responsible for recreational sport, the football academies (KNVB Academy) and the top of youth football (representing the boys u15 to u18 teams and girls u15 to u20)
