Art Langeler’s side have made a slow start to qualifying with only one win in the opening four games, but they made short work of Andorra in Doetinchem.
Initially the visitors frustrated Netherlands, but in the 20th minute, Oussama Idrissi crossed for Guus Til to tap in the opening goal.
On 28 minutes, a great cross by Denzel Dumfries was headed into the net by Sam Lammers before Idrissi quickly made it 3-0 with a close range finish from Til’s cross.
The fourth goal came in the 58th minute as Frenkie de Jong played a through ball for Justin Kluivert to run onto before the Ajax winger crossed for Idrissi to volley in his second. Richairo Zivkovic was then brought off the bench for Lammers and the forward netted almost immediately from Idrissi’s cross.
Four minutes after his goal, Zivkovic was brought down in the box and captain for the evening, Bart Ramselaar netted from the penalty spot to make it 6-0. Another penalty was awarded shortly afterwards for a foul on Til and this time Frenkie de Jong found the net from the spot.
Kliuivert then completed the scoring 12 minutes before the end with a fine finish. The victory lifts Netherlands to 2nd in the group behind England, who beat Ukraine 2-0 earlier in the day.
