Fred Grim’s side went into the game hoping to make it three wins out of three in the qualifying campaign, and things were going to plan when Vincent Janssen fired Netherlands ahead after 15 minutes.
However Netherlands failed to kill the game after taking the lead and just before the break a corner led to Martien Chrien equalizing for Slovakia.
The goal seemed to stun the home side and in the second half Slovakia took control and after Milan Skrinier gave them the lead, Matus Bero made it 3-1 with twenty minutes left.
Hans Hateboer and Vincent Janssen then squandered great chances to pull a goal back for Netherlands, and Slovakia held on for the win.
As I stated the level of coaching and refusal to defend is a full by product of a lack of vision by the KNVB. This is NOT a shock it is a by product of a lack of intelligent coaches in Holland. They aren’t grooming players or wins because their coaching has become stagnant and its NOT the players. The players are being asked to do what they CAN’T. Nobody is afraid of Dutch football at any level anymore because they don’t play to win they play to look good which is ridiculous.
