The US Women’s national team was too strong for Netherlands on Friday night. In a replay of the World Cup Final, the USA came out on top 2-0.

In July 2019, the two nations met in the World Cup final with Netherlands going down to a 2-0 defeat. The US national team is on a great run and are unbeaten in their last 31 games.
Without Vivianne Miedema, Netherlands struggled to create chances, and it was the visitors who controlled the game. It took until the 41st minute for the USA to take the lead with Rose Lavelle firing past Sari van Veenendaal.
In the 70th minute, Kristie Mewis sealed the victory with a fierce strike past Van Veenendaal.
Jill Roord came close just before the end in Netherlands only real attempt on goal through the whole game.
On Tuesday, Netherlands face Kosovo in a European Championship qualifier.
