The 30-year-old Russian millionaire started his first press conference on Dutch soil by stating, “It’s a dream come true. I am honoured and want to thank everybody. I’m ready.
“I hope to have another fifty years at the club. I want to develop it as a long-term project, this is not for two or three years.”
Asked about his ambitions for the Eredivisie strugglers, Korotaev stated, “I have to be careful because I do not want to put too much pressure on the team, but I am ambitious. In five years I would like to play Champions League with Roda JC. ”
Korotaev’s investment is set to boost the coffers at the Kerkrade club significantly, with CEO Wim Collard stating that their budget is set to increase from €10 million to 15 or €20 million thanks to the Russian.
